Le photographe de LinkIMage Brendan AUSTIN, qui vit à New York, a rapporté d’intéressants travaux de son voyage en Islande qui sont dès maintenant disponibles auprès de l’agence d’image suédoise. Le paysage offre des coulisses presque préparées pour l’occasion et des tons naturels à l’aspect mythique.

Brendan s’intéresse pour la recherche de paysages ou moments originaux, ce qui l’a déjà emmené dans les tunnels cachés de Londres, dans un radiotélescope abandonné en Lettonie ou une station de sous-marin nucléaire en Ukraine. Cet été, il a traversé le désert de Jordanie avec son appareil en main avant de voler vers l’Islande.

"Iceland has always been a destination I wanted to travel to. Walking on one of the glaciers was a definite highlight. It was a visual overload. Everywhere I looked was another picture to be taken. Although, the very polite guide was less than patient with me by the end of the walk! The barrenness of the landscape seems inhospitable and harsh, totally devoid of any human influence apart from the odd geothermal power plant in the distance... and tourist with brightly coloured outdoor clothing. I will definitely return."

Brendan Austin est né en Nouvelle-Zélande et a déjà vécu en Afrique du Sud, à Singapour, en Thaïlande et en Angleterre. En ce moment, il est toujours entre Stockholm et New York. Ses travaux furent visibles cette année chez Brindfors et Vassa Eggen, Stockholm et aussi dans l’exposition solo au Museum of Modern Art d’Arnheim.
